Sam Bankman-Fried is in jail, but legal

As Sam Bankman-Fried was taken away in handcuffs, some people who have been watching the implosion of FTX are wondering: Where's Caroline Ellison, his onetime girlfriend who ran his crypto hedge fund Alameda Research? So far, legal watchers say US prosecutors and regulators have been tight-lipped: The criminal indictment made no mention of Ellison, and the SEC's civil complaint targeted just Bankman-Fried. But in investigating what US Attorney Damian Williams called "one of the biggest financial frauds in American history," the government is almost certainly looking beyond Bankman-Fried, legal experts said. "It would not surprise me if Ellison has already spoken with prosecutors,"

Comments:

Sweet Caroline is the financial genius behind FTX, but the relationship is in trouble. She is now said to be SBF's "former girlfriend." Trouble in paradise.

It seems like the theft of all that money was so blatant that all involved should be easily convicted and be put in jail, so why are they apparently allowing some to get off by playing the cooperative witness game? No doubt some folks with political go-power did not want Sam Bankman-Fried to testify before that congressional committee where he would have been grilled about his political contributions, but instead they had him arrested in the Bahamas and effectively “put him on ice” so to speak.

Big Dem donor, big crook. Pictures with the likes of Bill Clinton, etc. Oh, I know that he sent a few pennies to a couple of Republicans and the media is trying to play that up as if he were even-handed when over 90% went to Dems. 2nd biggest donor to the Democrats behind the reptile Soros. It will not be long before Bankman-Fried is extradited back to the USA with some liberal judge then allowing him out on bond. Remember he gave over 40 million in contributions to the Democrats prior to the midterm election, and the Democrats obviously do not want him to testify openly about those political contributions, some of which was handed over while using false contributors identities, so who knows what will happen!

Newly indicted FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried is slated to appear in court in the Bahamas again on Monday, where he reportedly will change course and agree to no longer fight extradition to the U.S. Reuters first reported news of the reversal on Saturday. An unnamed official who interacts with Bankman-Fried on a daily basis at the Bahamian prison known as Fox Hill told The Washington Post that the disgraced FTX founder remarked Friday that he would agree to be extradited back to the US to "face the music" if his lawyers could not persuade a judge to grant him bail. Their first attempt at bail failed after telling the judge Bankman-Fried

Sam Bankman-Fried was shuffled off to his new digs in the Bahamas, where it seems likely that he will be spending a great deal of time. That his “mortal coil” might be shuffled off as well is an open question in the era of Jeffrey Epstein. Who are the bigger fraudsters, though? A spoiled kid who bilked his investors for billions or a bureaucracy that prints and spends public money with reckless abandon? It would take an eternity for SBF to graduate to the level of these government and quasi-government scammers. At the time of his bankruptcy filing, FTX’s liabilities were in the neighborhood of ten to fifty billion dollars.

Politicians frequently lie, but Old Joe Biden’s career record is clear: He makes Josef Goebbels look honest. Biden is such a massive liar that it’s unclear whether or not he has ever told the truth in an entire lifetime of grift and corruption. On Friday afternoon, however, Biden outdid himself, appearing at the Delaware Veteran’s Summit and telling so many outrageous lies about his career and his family that if he were a conservative, establishment media “fact checkers” would have died of exhaustion. It’s lucky for them that whenever Old Joe speaks, they take the day off. Biden claimed that when he was elected vice president in 2008,

Wannabe Speaker of the House Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) has a narrowing path to achieve his goal, largely because the opposition to him is adamant that he not ascend to the speakership. At least seven members have indicated they will not vote for McCarthy under any circumstances. And that sets the stage for a once-in-a-century floor fight that is likely to leave the Republican majority in the House in disarray and the Democrats grinning from ear to ear. It’s even remotely possible that a Democrat could squeak into the speaker’s chair. It’s highly unlikely, but if the vote for speaker goes on long enough, a few moderate Republicans might say, “to hell

One thing I dislike immensely about republican punditry, specifically as it relates to internal dynamics, is their tribal narrative engineering. The example from Breitbart about President Trump’s discussion of the next speaker of the House is a case study. Take out Matthey Boyle’s woven narrative; and remind yourself that Boyle is writing from a position of DeSantis advocacy; read just the direct quotes from President Trump about the risk of House Speaker if the party doesn’t align to support Kevin McCarthy, and the position is pragmatic. Essentially, if not Kevin McCarthy, and the House vote is dependent on Democrat support, the result will likely be worse.
