Wannabe Speaker of the House Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) has a narrowing path to achieve his goal, largely because the opposition to him is adamant that he not ascend to the speakership. At least seven members have indicated they will not vote for McCarthy under any circumstances. And that sets the stage for a once-in-a-century floor fight that is likely to leave the Republican majority in the House in disarray and the Democrats grinning from ear to ear. It’s even remotely possible that a Democrat could squeak into the speaker’s chair. It’s highly unlikely, but if the vote for speaker goes on long enough, a few moderate Republicans might say, “to hell

McCarthy should not be trusted. I'm not sure he's any better than Ryan or Boehner....both total RINOs, working for the Deep State and themselves, NOT for the American people.

The Republi-Can't Party doesn't represent its huge base of conservatives!!! Period!!! It is well past time for conservatives to leave the Republi-Can't Party and form a new Patriot's Party. We can continue a loose confederacy with the Republi-Can'ts until we become the new major party and can cut out those backstabbing RINO weasels!!!!!

The iconic lakerman (that would be me) has remained surprisingly silent on the matter of selecting a Speaker. That time has ended. The very nature of the job requires the Speaker to merge and balance the interests of factions within his caucus. And some of you people seem not to understand that. Nothing would ever get done in the House without a Speaker who can handle those things. So let's call a truce, suspend the use of the word RINO for a few months, and stop George Soros from laughing at us. Remember the 1960s anti-viet nam war chant, Give Peace a Chance? Let's gve McCarthy a chance. If he fails as Speaker, I will be the first to apologize.

What McCarthy did, #3, is increase the number of Republicans in the House each election while he was in charge. The Republicans have to hit the track running in January. Squabbling over leadership is a waste of time and certainly plays into the hands of the Democrats who, evil though they are, know how to govern.

Trump spoke this morning, saying that he backs McCarthy and disagrees with those in Congress trying to stop McCarthy from taking the gavel. What a dilemma for those who have been rabidly and gleefully tearing McCarthy down but also fiercely claim to be die-hard MAGA. He also allowed that when conservatives took out now-former Speaker Boehner, they ended top with Paul Ryan, who Trump said was much worse.

Newly indicted FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried is slated to appear in court in the Bahamas again on Monday, where he reportedly will change course and agree to no longer fight extradition to the U.S. Reuters first reported news of the reversal on Saturday. An unnamed official who interacts with Bankman-Fried on a daily basis at the Bahamian prison known as Fox Hill told The Washington Post that the disgraced FTX founder remarked Friday that he would agree to be extradited back to the US to "face the music" if his lawyers could not persuade a judge to grant him bail. Their first attempt at bail failed after telling the judge Bankman-Fried

Sam Bankman-Fried was shuffled off to his new digs in the Bahamas, where it seems likely that he will be spending a great deal of time. That his “mortal coil” might be shuffled off as well is an open question in the era of Jeffrey Epstein. Who are the bigger fraudsters, though? A spoiled kid who bilked his investors for billions or a bureaucracy that prints and spends public money with reckless abandon? It would take an eternity for SBF to graduate to the level of these government and quasi-government scammers. At the time of his bankruptcy filing, FTX’s liabilities were in the neighborhood of ten to fifty billion dollars.

Politicians frequently lie, but Old Joe Biden’s career record is clear: He makes Josef Goebbels look honest. Biden is such a massive liar that it’s unclear whether or not he has ever told the truth in an entire lifetime of grift and corruption. On Friday afternoon, however, Biden outdid himself, appearing at the Delaware Veteran’s Summit and telling so many outrageous lies about his career and his family that if he were a conservative, establishment media “fact checkers” would have died of exhaustion. It’s lucky for them that whenever Old Joe speaks, they take the day off. Biden claimed that when he was elected vice president in 2008,

As Sam Bankman-Fried was taken away in handcuffs, some people who have been watching the implosion of FTX are wondering: Where's Caroline Ellison, his onetime girlfriend who ran his crypto hedge fund Alameda Research? So far, legal watchers say US prosecutors and regulators have been tight-lipped: The criminal indictment made no mention of Ellison, and the SEC's civil complaint targeted just Bankman-Fried. But in investigating what US Attorney Damian Williams called "one of the biggest financial frauds in American history," the government is almost certainly looking beyond Bankman-Fried, legal experts said. "It would not surprise me if Ellison has already spoken with prosecutors,"
