Eric Swalwell Mockingly Endorses Ronna
McDaniel: ‘4 More Years! 4 More Years’

Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) continued his mission to further divide Republicans when he mockingly endorsed Ronna McDaniel for RNC chair on Wednesday. “I don’t know about you but I think Ronna McDaniel is doing an outstanding job running the RNC … 4 more years! 4 more years!” Swalwell tweeted on Wednesday.(Tweet) Considering the poor showing that Republicans had during the midterm elections by failing to take back the U.S. Senate and only narrowly taking back the U.S. House, Swalwell’s enthusiastic endorsement of McDaniel for RNC chair was an obvious troll to further divide the party as it considers voting on new leadership.

I'm sure Fang Fang would agree, Swalwell will have lots of time to tweet inane stuff like that and break wind. I expect that the new Republican congress will significantly limit his committee assignments. I'm thinking Ranking Member on the House Select Committee for Paper Clip Acquistion might be the most he could hope for. But I hear Omar and Schiff are up for that post, too.

McDaniel, McCarthy, and McConnell have done absolutely nothing to win for Republicans. If it were not for Trump single handedly pulling Republican candidates across the finish line, the Republicans would have 181 House seats, 42 Senate seats, and 19 Governorships.

Unfortunately Ronna McDaniel does not have a winning record. That gives political nut jobs like Swalwell room to criticize her and generally make fun of her. It’s just DC insider politics.

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre had a rough go at it Thursday, eventually storming out of the day’s press briefing after being confronted by relentless Today News Africa reporter Simon Ateba for not taking his questions. The president’s spokesperson, who checks multiple diversity boxes, would also go at it with regular antagonist, Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy. The reporter not only grilled Jean-Pierre on why Russia got a better deal in trading a professional athlete in Brittany Griner for a notorious arms dealer, but also pressed her for refusing to comment on the Biden campaign collaborating with Twitter on suppressing damaging content on the platform, as was revealed

The second installment of Elon Musk’s “Twitter Files” dropped Thursday night and reveals how the social media giant was secretly “blacklisting” conservative tweets and users. Independent journalist Bari Weiss detailed in a series of posts how Twitter used so-called “shadow banning” to limit the visibility of tweets coming from far-right users. Conservative talk show host Dan Bongino, Stanford University’s anti-COVID lockdown advocate Dr. Jay Bhattacharya, and right-wing activist Charlie Kirk were among the users targeted for suppression by Twitter, according to Weiss.

A newly released investigation reveals the extent to which American taxpayer-funded non-governmental organizations (NGOs) are sending tens of thousands of border crossers and illegal aliens to towns across all 50 states. The Heritage Foundation’s Oversight Project obtained data showing about 30,000 unique mobile devices at 35 NGO centers and one Customs and Border Protection (CBP) facility stationed along the United States-Mexico border. Ultimately, the investigation “confirmed that a host of NGOs are actively facilitating” large scale illegal immigration into the U.S. interior as CBP transfers border crossers and illegal aliens en masse to NGOs, funded by taxpayers, which then provide transportation services so arrivals can be sent to all 50 states.

Why Does the GOP Elite Hate Its Own Base? 30 replies

It is one of the most bitter and tragic ironies of our contemporary politics that the leadership of one of America’s two major political parties, the Republican Party, utterly despises that party’s very own voting base. The GOP elite’s scorn for its own voters has, at this point, been a long time in the making. The trend accelerated during the 2009-2011 rise of the Tea Party, a grassroots movement fueled by constitutionalism and anti-elite populism. The crustier elements of the Republican establishment ran as far away as possible from the Tea Party, and the 2012 presidential coronation of private equity plutocrat Mitt Romney effectively killed the movement.
Does Trump Really Want To Be President Again? 30 replies

Team Trump has sometimes compared former President Donald Trump's current quest for a non-sequential second term to two-term President Grover Cleveland's similar three election bids. Cleveland remains our only elected president (1884) to have lost a reelection bid (1888) -- in a disputed vote -- only to be reelected four years later in 1892. Yet Trump seems determined instead to follow a different, and bullheaded, Teddy Roosevelt model. Roosevelt left the presidency in 1908, sat out four years, and then lost a reelection bid in 1912, split and alienated the Republican Party, and ensured the election of the progressive Woodrow Wilson.

The Georgia runoff is over. Raphael Warnock came out on top (as expected). And Republicans are once again running the “quality candidate” canard as the reason for Herschel Walker’s loss (in addition to the overblown, overused, Trump scapegoat). Yet despite the fact Walker was outspent by Warnock nearly 3 to 1 (Warnock spent $126,232,942 to Walker’s $48,455,356), Walker performed remarkably well, netting 48.6 percent of the vote to Warnock’s 51.4 percent. This as Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp only came out in full force for Walker after he coasted to reelection in November (loaning his field organizing team to the Senate Leadership Fund — the GOP’s Senate super PAC which backed Walker).
