Former top intelligence officials who signed an open letter suggesting the Hunter Biden laptop story was part of a Russian operation just weeks before the 2020 election were silent after internal Twitter emails acknowledged there was no evidence the story involved material that was illicitly obtained. According to the New York Post — the outlet that broke the story in October 2020 — as reported on Saturday: Leon Panetta, a former CIA director and defense secretary, John Brennan a former CIA director, Mike Hayden, a former CIA director, and Jim Clapper, a former director of national intelligence — who all once said The Post’s reporting had ‘

Perhaps it would be best at this point for a prosecutor to set a "Value" upon this "In Kind Contribution", and explore the tax implications as well as the campaign finance violations it entailed? A good basis point for it would be the advertising rates per minute of every outlet that carried the story, multiplied by the number of mentions and number of minutes the story received...assessed not only against the 51, and whomever encouraged/facilitated/promoted the "Letter", but also every individual media member who promulgated it as "News", without ANY attempt to confirm this claim against the actual laptop data.

Remember Schiff held secret meetings in the Capitol SCIF? All of these a holes and others testified under oath that they had no evidence that Trump colluded with Russia (The redacted transcripts of their testimony has been on line for years but the media has kept them quiet). Meanwhile they continued to make the accusations with "plausible deniability". So just as with hunter's laptop they will never face any consequences

The disinformation plot of the IC officials was not driven by the laptop contents per se since the FBI had already confirmed it was genuine in December when they received it from the repair shop owner. The smear story was triggered by the fact that Rudy Guiliani had also been given a copy of the disk drive which they never expected. They immediately decided to tie this to the fact that Guiliani had obtained the same evidence that they were covering up regarding Biden's $1B payoff to the Ukrainian president to get the Burisma prosecutor fired. The used the "Russian disinformation" ruse for this because it had worked for the Biden bribery evidence. Guiliani has been their worst nightmare in protecting the Biden crime family.

Each of these yahoos should be hauled before congress and asked to testify if they actually physically inspected the drive to make the claim that the product was Russian disinformation (which they have to say no) and who/what led them to make that claim. Would they make that claim today? If so, why. Then, each Republican member can say that this person has no reason to have any remaining security clearances because they are an idiot.

# 13 nails it. The letter and the release were political propaganda. Americans who could see through the organized effort to keep Donald Trump out of the White House in 2016 we not taken in by “earmarks of a Russian operation” in 2020. Why not? Maybe because by then they had learned to recognize “earmarks” of a domestic operation against Donald Trump. That’s why selling the supposed “insurrection” narrative of January 6th failed to produce the desired backlash aimed not just at Trump but at the tens of millions of loyal Americans accused of agreeing with the “storming” of the Capitol. A real insurrection would be obvious. Police leaving doors open and waiving people in is inconsistent with the insurrection narrative. So is government withholding tapes from the American people the administration does not want them to see.

When news of the Battle of Saratoga reached Britain, a young Scottish barrister told economist Adam Smith: “If we go on at this rate, the nation must be ruined.” Adam Smith responded, “Be assured young friend, that there is a great deal of ruin in a nation.” By that, he meant that nations can absorb a lot more blows than the pessimists tend to think. A few days ago, American Greatness had a very concerned article by Victor Davis Hanson on the future of America. After quoting Adam Smith’s answer at the beginning of the article, and after reviewing the ills that beset America, Hanson concluded his

The full records of the closed-door testimonies and other information gathered by the January 6 Committee could remain hidden for decades, thanks to the its secretive nature and to laws protecting committee records. The committee, which was entirely one-sided against former President Donald Trump after Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) took the unprecedented step of blocking minority party nominees, followed the equally problematic practice of Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) in conducting his impeachment investigation into Trump in a restricted room of the House Intelligence Committee, thereby controlling the flow of information.

All Democrats voted in favor of the action while all Republicans on the panel voted against. It's not immediately clear when the documents will be released.

Senate Republicans are gearing up to punch their voters in the mouth again, this time by passing a massive omnibus bill that gives the farm away to Democrats for essentially nothing in return. The reasoning behind the push is a bit of a mystery. Are we really to believe that these Republicans fear a short government shutdown so much that they are willing to concede the power of the purse their party fought so hard to win in November’s election? Color me skeptical on that front. On the contrary, as a nice change of pace, I think this move isn’t about cowardice but is about business as usual.

While it may be a stretch to say the criminal referrals were the panel’s objective all along, it was certainly predictable that the nine Trump-hating members would eventually vote to refer Trump to the Department of Justice for prosecution, which is precisely what they did this week on four trumped-up charges: inciting insurrection, conspiracy to defraud the United States, obstruction of an act of Congress, and conspiracy to make a false statement.

We can thank Watergate and the fall of Richard Nixon for numerous words and quotes that continue to shape public understanding of political scandals. There’s “hush money” and “Deep Throat,” a “modified limited hangout” and “follow the money.” But half-a-century later, two other Watergate phrases are key to comprehending the FBI’s sordid role in suppressing The Post’s initial coverage of Hunter Biden’s laptop.  The first is, “What did the president know and when did he know it?” In a 1973 Watergate hearing, the question about the president’s knowledge was asked by Sen. The question in the title needs, I believe, critical examination. Why DOES the Left hate Trump so much? The answer, as usual, can largely be found by analyzing history. But first. Do they hate him because the average price of a gallon of gas in his administration was far lower than under Biden? Is it because inflation was low (around 2%) and trending downward? Is it that the USA was energy independent and didn’t need to beg our enemies for oil, deplete our strategic oil reserve or sell it to China? Is it because black and Hispanic unemployment was lower than at any time in history?

Add yet another government overreach to the “Things You Didn’t Think Could Happen in America” file: Democrats on the lame-duck House and Ways and Means Committee voted Tuesday to release six years of former President Donald Trump’s tax returns. Why? Because they um, uh—because they want to? But wait, you say to yourself, that’s not possible; your tax returns are private by federal law, and therefore protected from release. The Dems of course found a sleazy way around that.
