After Getting In Bed With TikTok, Will

"I think Donald Trump was right, I mean, TikTok is an enormous threat.” That was Sen. Mark Warner — a Democrat — talking about the popular Chinese-owned social media app. Warner, along with an increasing number of national security experts, says that the innocuous-seeming video-sharing service poses the dangers to national security that Trump warned about years ago. “The ability for China to have undue influence is, I think, a much greater challenge and a much more immediate threat than any kind of actual, armed conflict,” Warner said. Biden will never ban TicTok. First, he owes his Chinese partners too much and they would expose him for the criminal he is. Second, he would show that Donald Trump was right about TikTok!

Mark Warner is a little late to the party. He is one of the Democrat/Socialist who has been doing everything he can to stop Pres. Trump from running again. He's part of the problem.

Is there any reason to expect him to stop ignoring the threat? It's pretty obvious that the Lefties who made Twitter such an effective platform of 'progressive' propaganda are angling to make Tik Tok the new Twitter, now that the original is no longer the ideological playground for them. Many elements of the MSM are giving their handles for Facebook, Instagram, and Tik Tok, now, instead of for Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.

Should The U.S. Be More Like China? 19 replies

Some years ago, New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman said “if we could just be China for a day” we would be able to “authorize the right solutions … on everything from the economy to environment.” It’s a fantasy often dreamed of, usually in secret, by Western elites. For the rest of us, it’s a nightmare. While our country, and much of the world, has finally walked away from most of the liberty-robbing and soul-crushing pandemic restrictions, China is convulsing over the government’s zero-tolerance rules. Protests – mostly peaceful, or course – have spread across major cities. The oppressed citizens are revolting,

All governments are bad – always necessary, often useful, occasionally better than most, rarely genuinely helpful to all, but still bad. From Athens to Zaire, from commune to kingdom, from democracy to dictatorship, when people come together to form a society there will always be those who take advantage, who prey, who scheme, who profit from their position. Every government ever has violated its own laws, flouted its own rules, changed long-standing practices for immediate gain, side-stepped its foundational concepts and strictures, dismissed societal codes of conduct, and ignored the basic ethical standards of humanity.

America these days has many powerful political disagreements, even for things that, at least superficially, don’t seem to be overtly political. One of them is the government response to the COVID-19 virus outbreak. It has divided the country politically as few other issues in recent years, new I&I/TIPP data show. Those responding to the latest poll were asked whether the economic lockdowns, public school closures, masking requirements and social restrictions were “necessary or unnecessary to address the COVID virus.” The majority believe the government’s actions were needed. By 57% to 30%, Americans answered that the COVID restrictions

Did the United States suddenly become a socialist basket case? It’s hard not to come to that conclusion after reading about the endless shortages plaguing the nation. Each of which President Joe Biden either seems clueless to resolve or determined to make worse. Let’s start with the biggest one: the shortage of diesel fuel. While Biden was busy draining the Strategic Petroleum Reserve to tamp down gas prices before the midterm elections, the real worry was that supplies of diesel fuel have been running short. Two years after the short-lived COVID lockdowns ended, diesel inventories continued to trend downward

The world’s climate criminals aren’t the energy companies selling the fossil fuels needed to power a modern economy, nor those that make the products that burn those fuels. The real offenders are the global warming alarmists who have once again revealed what the game is, and it has nothing to do with protecting the environment. This year’s United Nations climate hootenanny, the 27th Congress of Parties, produced an agreement in which rich nations will pay reparations to poorer ones for the damage that their energy consumption has supposedly caused. Our own country, at the insistence of its increasingly impaired, ever-pandering-to-eco-cranks president

Not only was crypto-billionaire Sam Bankman-Fried’s company, FTX, allegedly a fraud, but it spent huge sums on recent elections to get Democrats into office. Was this a case of massive election fraud? If so, it isn’t just Bankman-Fried who should be punished. In case you’re not caught up on all this, FTX, a futures exchange for crypto-currencies including its own, exploded into the public’s attention just after the election. That’s when it was revealed that FTX had questionably transferred or “loaned” some $10 billion to its sister company, Alameda Research, to “fund risky bets,” a highly questionable move seemingly to shore up Alameda’s finances. And yes, FTX was a big deal.

On Tuesday, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas assured Congress that the border is secure and that “we are working day in and day out to enhance its security.” The back-to-back events lead to a question: How many times can a Cabinet secretary blatantly lie to Congress before he gets brought up on charges? A recent online magazine article proposed a controversial idea: Those government and private officials who might have made serious errors during the COVID-19 pandemic should be granted “amnesty” for their mistakes. Will it fly? As the latest I&I/TIPP Poll shows, the answer is “not likely.” The article in question, Let’s Declare a Pandemic Amnesty, appeared in the Oct. 31 online edition of The Atlantic. Specifically, the article, written by Brown University economist Emily Oster (who herself was heavily criticized for supporting school reopenings during COVID) urged: We have to put these fights aside and declare a pandemic amnesty.

The moment the government’s inflation number came out last Thursday, the stock market rocketed upward. President Joe Biden took a victory lap. It was less than expected! Inflation is cooling off! Sounds wonderful. Except that prices rose in October by almost 8% year-over-year. That’s four times faster than the Federal Reserve Bank’s 2% target rate. And it marks the 20th consecutive month since inflation has been above the Fed’s target. It also comes on top of previous record-level price hikes. When prices started shooting up last year, the White House said it was no big deal because of the “base effect.” They said

Even the BBC has been wondering “when will we know who won.” Have the delays been caused by incompetence or malign forces? Surely both, but it’s the latter that has had the biggest impact. Forty-two years ago, on the evening of Nov. 4, 1980, the day of the election, President Jimmy Carter conceded to his Republican challenger Ronald Reagan at 9:50 pm Eastern Standard Time. Footage shows firefighters spraying down the smoldering remains of one vehicle's engine block. The five vehicles included a Chevy Suburban, Ford Explorer, Infiniti QX80, Ford Expedition, and a Jeep Gladiator.

President Biden met with congressional leaders of both parties on Tuesday to discuss lame-duck session priorities, including passing legislation to avert a looming rail strike that could devastate the U.S. economy.  'I asked for Congress, whether they'd be willing to come in and talk about what we're going to do between now and Christmas in terms of legislation,' Biden said at the top of the meeting. 'There's a lot to do in resolving the rail strike,' Biden said.  'Congress has to act to prevent it. It's not an easy call, but I think we have to do it - the economy's at risk.'

President Biden urged Congress Monday to intervene to avert a "potentially crippling national rail shutdown," after multiple rail labor unions shot down an agreement brokered by the White House in September. American consumers and virtually all industries could take a hit at the beginning of the holiday season if workers do strike as soon as Dec. 5. Congress could intervene and impose contract terms on railroad workers, which is what Mr. Biden is urging them to do. Thanks to the Railway Labor Act, passed in 1926, Congress can force workers back to their stations with a congressional resolution.

In such a scenario, concerns are rising that so-called moderate—or establishment Republicans—are willing to band together to make a deal with the Democrats to elect a moderate Republican as speaker with Democrat votes in exchange for a House rules change that hands the incoming Democrat minority significant power over how subpoenas can be issued.
