A dean at the University of Cambridge in the U.K. came to the defense of a junior research fellow whose sermon last Sunday about Jesus Christ having a "trans body" reportedly left outraged congregants "in tears." Dr. Michael Banner, the dean of Trinity College, said Joshua Heath raised "legitimate" speculation in his Evensong sermon during which the researcher claimed from the pulpit of Trinity College chapel that non-erotic portrayals of Jesus' penis in historical paintings "urge a welcoming rather than hostile response towards the raised voices of trans people," according to the Daily Telegraph.

These people have completely lost their minds. Some of the seminaries have become hotbeds of homosexuality. This perversion has become a true cult, not a real religion. A lot of these “priests” are atheists and will deny the resurrection. They do this for a reason...to break the faith of the faithful.

I gave up on man made organized religion a long time ago. It does not mean I do not believe or am not a spiritual person it just means I don't need all the BS rules and regulations that are different for every religion ever conceived by man.

We humans wreck everything we get our paws on. Religion is a perfect example. Here we have Christianity, which even comes with a manual, and nobody can agree on what it says. Go to any two random churches and they will believe differently, practice differently, and condemn all who disagree. I went to a service in 92 just to check it out (at the behest of the preacher, a friend), and was afterward chided by a congregant for sitting in the wrong pew. Yeah. I sure felt uplifted and saved.
No wonder I walked away in 93. Nowadays I found a new religion that while not perfect, it at least encourages me to experience the spiritual things in whatever way they happen without worrying about the opinions of old busybodies.

Doubt the guy giving the sermon was even a priest.
There is God and there is religion. Don't ever confuse the two. Wouldn't surprise me if humanity is constantly creating more religions. Some will have only a handful of followers. Others, thousands.

From the article I gather that the research fellow’s comments were about representations of Jesus in art. If so his comments in a sermon are still offensive and delusional. Transgenderism is a mental disorder as displayed by the fellow’s efforts to bring it into a talk about portrayals of the sacred.
No one but a fanatical nut job would find “trans” in medieval renderings of the crucifixion or aftermath. This jerk is unfit for any clerical office he holds and the dean should boot him out.

I like an old fashioned church service with traditional hymns. I don't need or like guitars and drums during a church service and I really don't care for the modern pop religious music. Some of the songs aren't bad, but to me it just doesn't belong in church.

The sermon was demonic satanic and a mockery of God Jesus and the Holy Spirit. It is a prime example of the unpardonable sin. There was nothing legitimate about it. It is completely made up and has no basis in fact in the word of God which does not stand to man’s interpretation.

With 45,000+ different denominations (most of which don't even like each other), and insane heretics like these two, I think Satan is just laughing with delight right now!!!!

I am with number 9. I prefer the old stuff and preachers offered grace in the afterlife if we behaved as decent human beings. Look up Pascal’s ’wager. Have faith because the alternative is eternal death. I prefer to think that I will meet my adored loved ones at some later date. It won’t be much later since I am now 80 years old.

Profanity and deceit are now the false gods of almost every old line Protestant religion and believers were warned about participating in such perversity long ago in The Book. The Archbishop of Canterbury teaches a ghastly and twisted version of Christ who welcomes and cherishes everyone including those who are steeped in and unapologetically relish sin but the true Christ did not and taught sublimity, beauty and proportion.

As #8 observed, the subject of this so-called sermon was the representation of Christ in medieval art. The focus was obviously chosen as, shall we say, to serve as the "g-string" to mollify the expected outraged "middle-class morality" against the transgender interpretation to be presented. The faithful in the pews should have brought down the rafters with shouts of "Heresy!" and all walked out, but unfortunately the protest was not total. The powers-that-be in Protestant Cambridge will ride this out, just as they did with homosexuality. That eventually worked well for them and they're confident the trans agenda will work out the same way.
The trans movement is the ultimate denial of God's Masterpiece of Creation: Mankind - Male and Female, leading to procreation. Transgenderism is pure evil and comes direct from Lucifer. The poor souls who are captured by this evil are helpless victims who deserve our pity, our prayers, our understanding and our help. However, the purveyors of this evil; the professors, teachers and doctors who facilitate and do the surgeries are criminals and need to be prosecuted and put in prison. This is spiritual warfare of the highest levels and it requires warriors steeped in prayer and fasting. Mere physical strength, nor political gamesmanship will be enough for what we facing.
When Jesus Christ founded His Church upon the Rock of Peter, He promised the Gates of Hell would not prevail against Her. He did not promise that the Smoke of Satan would not infiltrate Her. Judas sat at table for the Last Supper. He received the First Eucharist, and betrayed Jesus only hours later. Still hours later Peter also betrayed Jesus. The difference between the two is that Judas despaired and committed suicide, sealing the deal with Satan; Peter despaired, wept and stayed with the Apostles, sealing the deal with Christ. Down through the centuries of two thousand years the Holy Catholic Church has been led by Saints, scoundrels and mediocrities. We have survived schisms, multiple popes and the Reformation. We are currently surviving Pope Frank while Benedict XVI still lives. As my favorite all-time priest once observed as his proof of the Truth of Catholicism, "Its survived because of the laity despite the clergy."
Our way through this is know our faith and know it well. God made man. God made woman. God made them to multiply and to subdue the earth. It is time for this transgender nonsense to stop. It stops now. AMDG.

Jesus is spoken of in the Bible this way.
Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. Acts 4:12
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
John 14:6
Focus on this to be drawn to God. All other is a distraction and an excuse.

folks, satan is real and large in this world. And his favorite way of doing things are to corrupt Christ's Church thru the clergy and then thru the staff and then filters down to the Christian in the pew. His 'A' plan is to use islam to be his worldwide religion. He does not have a 'B' plan. Man made ( or satan made) religions have been made for the entire 6000+ existence of man in this world. And the only response to the Christ who was sent to save us is more rules and regulations from the clergy(satan) ....its Jesus Saves. But once your saved, then you gotta do this and dont do that. Do-Do religion. Some churches hammer the members by the Mosaic Law ( all 613 of them) which can not ever be followed and some clergy then adds on THEIR laws and rules. Other church clergy adds on the 'liberal' political agenda.
I have found a church and pastor (Joe Cortes) that teaches Jesus Saves with no added rules. When Saved you are free. Teachingfaith.com. You will not be bombarded with THE Law and more modern rules created by satan's man. The Bible teaching is the best. I suggest starting with the Change of Mind series and the current series of God's Amazing Grace. Then you can filter out all these denominational nuts.

Aside from the egregious blasphemy of this detritus, it’s not even intelligent. Anyone who teaches this sort of thing you can bet is a militant atheistic ignoramus, not to mention (which I am about to) a hateful anti-Christian bigot who gets his kicks bashing perfectly good people of faith.

#2, everyone needs guard rails. The best ones come from the Bible. The claim that you don’t like “organized religion” is almost always an excuse for wanting the freedom to do whatever you want to do, with no consequences. I was an atheist until I was 52 before I was converted to Christianity. One of my favorite things to say back then was, “I don’t believe in organized religion.” I was copping out of having to bend to Someone else’s rules rather than my own. I am far happier now than then. Rules and all.

I run with #9...that switch to 'new age' music caused a schism in the church I was born into many years ago...the 'new' preacher started preaching in shorts with a golf club in hand, changed from the old hymns and told congregants if they didn't like it, leave..so 1/2 of us did...

These so-called "men" casting aspersions upon the Perfect God-Man, ridicule Him in a manner worthy of their mentor, Satan. And yet, this Man they ridicule, willingly bore all of THEIR sins in His body on a Roman Cross of wood, and was judged for them on their behalf. He gives them eternal life, and they ridicule Him.
When Scripture says (Romans 1:26) that "God gave them over to degrading passions," it means that the homosexuals' punishment is found in their own pit of sexual deviance. They become obsessive-compulsive about homosexuality and when that isn't enough they move on to even worse degeneracies. It is a progressive mental illness that most times ends in suicide.

#s 2 and 27 -- and, yet, even if we get to make up our own rules, if their definition doesn't shift to correspond with our passions / desires (to say whatever I do is right), even we won't be able to live by them. C.S. Lewis found something worth contemplating about human nature and morality in general there.
One eventually notices that it's not so much religion-organized rules that humans don't want to live by, but any organized rules at all that we don't want to abide. The human heart desires to follow its own passions and whims without any fixed constraints.

Catholics & The Reformation – With sincere respect for Catholic brothers and sisters in Christ, the repeated aura of denunciation and derision toward Martin Luther and The Reformation is unwarranted.
Detaching one’s self from personal allegiance to Catholicism to consider the reality that God used a variety of people to bring about His will is well-documented in Scripture. (Noah, Abraham, Jacob, Moses, Rahab, Samson, David, Paul, Peter) God used Moses to bring The Ten Commandments to the people of Israel and God used Jesus to bring two new Commandments, Baptism and the Lord’s Supper. It is not unreasonable to consider the reality that God may have used Martin Luther to bring about The Reformation, and there is no way any mortal man can, with absolute certainty, reject the possibility that God may have chosen Martin Luther for that purpose. Reality: Criticizing Martin Luther and The Reformation may be criticizing God’s will.
Numerous Catholics have posted their disappointments and criticisms of Pope Francis for a variety of reasons with the view that “this too shall pass” when a new pope is named. In that perspective, Martin Luther was no different—he had disappointments and criticisms for things he observed as a Monk but chose not to risk the adherence to, reverence for, and preservation of God’s Word as written in Scripture to be set aside with disregard and ultimately revived the Gospel message in Europe: “Sinners are justified through faith in Christ Jesus and through His grace alone.” Martin Luther was not a heretic and his theology not heretical.
Decades ago a Lutheran pastor described the differences between Christian denominations as being different flowers, each with its own fragrance to One God.
Shalom.

The Law has over 600 commandments. More Than 350 actions to abstain from and nearly 250 actions on the to-do list.
Some violations of the Law, such as idolatry and sexual sins, were punishable by death. Is this the way Christ our savior
wants us to live? I don't think so.
