Why the media are still failing Americans

“Wake up, America! Wake up!” John Lewis shouted at the 1963 March on Washington. That message is even more needed today, in the final stages of the most critical election for the survival of the American experiment since 1864. (Snip) Today, America’s future hangs on the defeat of the right-wing extremist authoritarians who have seized the name of Lincoln’s party. If we lose, news corporations and journalists with a misplaced sense of “balance,” “neutrality” and “nonpartisanship” will bear a considerable share of the blame. CORRECTION*

The MSM is very hesitant to discuss the "gaffes" by the Demented Fuhrer. They do realize that the "gaffes" become worse month-by-month and are very reluctant to examine the root cause. The "gaffes" are no longer "gaffes". Ask Jill.

Vote big time on November 8th. We have a great head start, but need a massive turnout on voting day to guarantee a home run! Overwhelm the system so we can see the numbers that night and be able to see the cheating more visibly the next day if and when they try cheating again! Let’s vote people!

puhleez. On one hand, I agree that America is under threat. But the threat is from people like him. It is they that want to get rid of free speech. It is they that want to get rid of the right to bare arms and defend oneself. It is they that want to take away our rights to practice our religion as we choose. It is they that want to undermine our election integrity, take away freedom of the press, take away the balance of power.

The “media” were complicit in helping spread political propaganda created and paid for by Democrats in 2016. The “media” continued to write articles filled with loaded terms, like the ones in this rant, not to inform, but to influence. NOW the writer is troubled the media are failing Americans. Where has he been? I agree the failure is evident. But not unexpected. When a party “wins” by distributing propaganda it paid for, and referring to middle America as extremists, and when suburban white women remind media darlings of roaches, there is a lot more “hate” leading back to the media crafting those narratives, than to the millions of Americans demonized for supporting the presidential candidate of their choice. Had the MSM dug for answers on the many “irregularities” in Biden’s election, they could have turned that research into a opportunity to show Americans the evidence of a free and fair election. But instead, the MSM, the White House, and self serving politicians dismissed legitimate concerns by skeptical American citizens. The Russia hoax was a lie Democrats used to deceive. Why would American grown ups trust the MSM and politicians to tell them the truth about an election where the candidate campaigned from his basement and still got more votes than any presidential candidate in history? Americans are fed up with Democrats and the MSM. They know their lives were better when Americans came first, and they know, now that Trump inspired prosperity is gone, what they’ve lost…and they know who stole it from them.

It’s because of guys like this that people are going to go out and vote on Tuesday. They are fed up! An observation: Today, I went to vote early. The parking lot was packed and there was already a line out the door on Monday morning, no less. There was a wait to proceed to the check in stations and almost every voting booth was occupied. I have never seen such activity before. As I was leaving there was a steady stream of people coming in. If this is any indication of turnout, it’s going to be massive. People are engaged, enthusiastic and on a mission. I know my experience will not be everyone’s but it gave me hope to experience that sense of shared determination to make my voice heard today. Although there was nothing said, there were many knowing looks being exchanged. People know how important this election is.

This guy reminds me of a College Professor I had that was very liberal. We were assigned to write an essay about black oppression. I knew what he wanted to hear, white supremacy, and if I wrote that I would receive an "A", but if I wrote the problem was a heart issue of the human race, Mr. Professor would not be happy. I decided I wanted to live with my conscience so I followed my heart. And not surprisingly, he gave me a lower grade. My neighbor wanted the grade, so she gave him what he wanted to hear. Her grade? What to do about “River Dave?” That would be the old man who says he would rather rot in jail than give up the cabin in the Canterbury woods along the Merrimack where he has lived for nearly three decades. Trouble is, the courts have found that River Dave doesn’t own the land on which his cabin sits. His latest refusal to decamp has landed him in jail for 30 days for contempt of court, although a judge says he won’t hold Dave any longer than that.
