Entertainment giant Disney has unveiled its first “plus-sized” heroine in a short film about an oversized ballet dancer dealing with “body dysmorphia.”
The obese ballet dancer in the film Reflect will mark the first time an overweight character was treated as the hero instead of as comic relief, or a villain.
The plus-sized dancer, named Bianca, is reportedly portrayed as a character “who battles her own reflection, overcoming doubt and fear by channeling her inner strength, grace and power,” the Daily Mail reported. (Tweet)

As we dumb down intellectually we are, at the same time, packing on the lard physically.
I bought stock in a pharmaceutical company that had a novel weight loss compound some years back. They could not give it away. Nobody cared anymore. Fat became 'in'.

One thing is for sure, if Disney keeps it up with this woke agenda, the word fat will never be applied to their future profits. Fat is not good, not attractive, and is not healthy. That is a biological fact just like the fact that there is only two genders - Male and Female.

Any organization still hooked on “First This or That” is stuck in the 20th century when Satan began using his favorite toy - mass communication. He rallied Germany behind Hitler, turned leadership roles into beauty pageants, and enabled media demons to convince the greatest nation on Earth that they couldn’t defeat Vietnamese children crawling through tunnels. At this point in history, any “first” should be downplayed as an oversight for taking so long. Following the “MeToo” era, maybe they could tout, “First heroine who didn’t have to perform sexual favors for Hollywood executives to get the role.” That would be quite an accomplishment.

Too late. I am done with all things "Disney". Walt would be so angry at what this trash has done to his fine company.

Because based on the description of this short film, it doesn't sound like this character has body dysmorphia (someone obsesses about a flaw that doesn't exist), it sounds like a movie about a girl who actually is overweight. So the movie isn't about a psychological condition, the movie is yet another push for "fat-acceptance".

Dysmorphia?
From Ancient Greek δυσμορφίᾱ (dusmorphíā, “misshapenness, ugliness”), from δυσ- (dus-, “bad, mal-”) + μορφή (morphḗ, “shape, form”) + -ίᾱ (-íā).
Bad is good. Ok, nobody should have to feel ashamed of themselves. But morbidity is unhealthy. And the dims force you to take the vaccine for your health- allegedly- but want to celebrate your obesity which medicine says will kill you.
Bad is good. So shut up.

Not a bad idea in theory. But wait! Didn’t Disney do a film segment with plus-sized dancers in 1940 in “Fantasia”? And isn’t it now considered politically incorrect? I’m confused. 🥴

Disney has become a woke, corrupt, kid groomer sanctioned dumpster fire company. As such I gave up on them long before they destroyed the animated features of my youth, destroyed a comic book company of my youth, destroyed the outer space franchise of my youth, catered to depravity and went to war over it all with a sitting governor. The kicker was that they told parents and people who had issues with it all in general to just shut up and get over it. Well I for one will never shut up in the face of wokeness. I have though gotten well past over it by never sending Disney a dime of my money. With this latest stupidity I'm glad I did.

So, does this heroine eventually need knee and hip replacement surgery? Does she have type 2 diabetes? Does she eventually die of a massive coronary?

Being fat is not something to be celebrated. It causes all kinds of health problems and should be discouraged in a kind way.

It wont really be a Disney production until it is a black lesbian trannie who used to be white but was granted three wishes by a white male genie who hated fat kids.
But I'll never see it. I dont do Disney anymore.

The world of professional dance is brutal, Bianca, and your chances of a career as a fat ballerina are virtually zero. But hey, at least you feel good about yourself.

The inconvenient truth is that obesity is a sign of lack of self-control. Stop eating and/or get some exercise.

In the next 30-50 years, this country is going to have such a massive epidemic of obesity-related health issues that are going to be directly blamable to "normalizing" obesity from young ages today.
But, even more so, the mental damage that will be done to girls and women is going to be horrific. By telling these young girls to "just accept your unhealthy size and weight", these girls are just going to be massively obese by the time they hit their teenage years. While they are sitting home alone with few friends on Friday nights, all their cute female friends will be out on dates and hanging with their normal friends -- just as it always has been.
Add to that the pressure to "change their gender" or try lesbianism, and these girls are going to be so messed up that they are never going to be functional adult women.
I had one daughter that was chubby as a young girl. She loved eating. My husband and I slowly changed our meals to be healthier with less carbohydrates and sweets, and my husband spent a lot of time with her doing physical activities. Wonderful daddy/daughter bonding, and by the time she reached her teenage years, she was at a healthy and normal weight, cute and popular. I look at some of my nephews and nieces, and I truly believe we did the right thing to help her achieve being happy and healthy to this day.
