First Lady Jill Biden offered a rare personal glimpse into her views on abortion during a political fundraiser in San Francisco on Friday, retelling the story of how her mother helped care for a teenage friend who got an abortion 60 years ago. Biden, who was 17 at the time, said her friend didn’t want to be pregnant, but learned that a doctor would only perform an abortion if she underwent a psychiatric evaluation and was declared mentally unfit. It was the late 1960s, before the Supreme Court’s Roe v. Wade decision, and abortion was illegal in Pennsylvania, where she

Boo Hoo! This happened in 1969. It's 2022, and even with the Supreme Court decision, abortions are still legal. The difference is one might have to travel to another state to have it done, and the taxpayers might not pay for it.

Love the syntax!! Jill Biden’s friend had an abortion at a San Francisco fundraiser. I don’t know anyone did abortions at fundraisers but if a Biden says so, that’s good enough for me.

Jilly claims these women's education, careers, and futures depended on their freedom to kill their unborn children, not their ability to resist a sexual encounter. Got it!

So the moral of her story is poor, pitiful gal had to answer questions before cutting, burning or tearing apart her growing infant to kill it. Does not fit my sensibility to have more sympathy or righteous anger for the uninformed young mother than the murdered baby. Stop telling women the are destined to be losers for having their babies!

Here's what I read from this article: Girl was pregnant. Aborted the baby. CRIED the whole way back(because she took a life?) and her parents didn't let her back o the house because she killed their grandchild.

Since that time abortions were made legal and ubiquitous. They pushed for less and less restrictions and more and more viability up to and including delivery day. Paid for by taxpayers. The SC decision was well deserved pushback. Killing the unborn should NOT be easy.

San Francisco? I guess visiting the UCSF cancer center was the official reason for flying the First Lady flying to the West Coast so that the cost could be passed onto the taxpayers. Obama would do this all the time - visit a factory somewhere in California and then hit two or three fundraisers around the state.

Medical science has advanced in leaps and bounds since Roe vs Wade. Science says this is a baby, not a clump of cells. Liberals never want to discuss that aspect of the abortion. One more thing Jill, there is no such thing as a constitutional right to abortion. Just because you and your friends keep repeating the same lies over and over, the facts do not change.

This made-to-order tall tale is part of the Left's effort to get maximal leverage on the midterms with the one issue that seems to favor them? The Dems (and their sycophantic media) have so thoroughly propagandized everything about the overturning of Roe-v-Wade that half the country thinks abortion has been outlawed in the U.S. (or will be, if midterms return the GOP to the majority in Congress).

Yeah, I have a story like that, too, Jill. Except my best friend wanted to keep her baby, and her parents forced to have an abortion because of the shame it would bring on the family. At that time, abortions were on done on an experimental basis, so my friend was a guinea pig. She has never completely gotten over it, and lives with all those things you talked about, Jill: shame, guilt, secrecy, even death. I cried all the way home, too, that her parents could force her to do such a cruel and inhuman act, and that an innocent little baby was going to be killed.
You may have an experience with abortion— if it’s even true—but, so do many others.

So what's the point of this story? The girl wanted an abortion and got one, not in a "back alley" but in a hospital. even pre-Roe.
Also, "Biden’s mother allowed the girl to recover at their house. Biden said she and her late mother never told another person, including her father, what had happened." So her father never asked "Hey, who's the sick girl up in the spare bedroom"?

It’s an old liberal Democrat political tactic to personalize every issue when speaking before their low information or otherwise unknowing supporters and voters. Biden has decades of experience doing that, and obviously has passed that little trick on to his caregiver Dr. Jill.

BS. When I was in high school in my small Ga town (late 50s) there were a couple of doctors known to “help a girl out” if you know what I mean. Not back alley at all and probably safer than Kermit Gosnell’s butcher shop (endorsed by Planned Parenthood at the time).

Her husband has been in the Senate for 47 years. If this is such an important issue to them, why did he not introduce legislation to enter it into Federal Law rather than rely on a judicial decision based on ''penumbras''?
