CALIFORNIA (WTVO) — With California’s power grid under strain due to extreme heat and high demand, the utility grid operator is asking residents to avoid charging their electric vehicles. This comes days after the state announced a plan to ban the sale of gas-powered cars by 2035. The California Independent System Operator is asking residents for “voluntary energy conservation” over the Labor Day weekend.

Comments:

California really is beyond parody.

Being a spokesperson for democrat fools has to be the worst job in the world, right after being Biden's body man and cleaning up his bed the next morning.

There is stupid and then there is California stupid. They don't even have enough basic electricity to power their homes and yet they're trying to force millions of people to buy electric cars? They would have no electricity for their cars or their homes. They would be living in the stone age. California stupid.

The irony of this is lost on green California. If they required heat through winter like the Midwest or Northerners they would have a different outlook.

Just think how easy it will be to keep us deplorables in their homes next time Big Brother decides it's for our own good. Just turn of the power to the recharging stations. Nobody goes anywhere. This sends a chill down my spine.

You can make $50 billion available for charging stations instead of $5 billion, where is the juice going to come from? This whole thing would be funny if it were not so serious.

Hey! I'm doing my part. I'm definitely NOT charging an EV. PLUS, I'm pumping energy INTO the grid. I have been getting a rebate every since the gov't paid me to put panels on my roof. Thanks, Moonbeam!

The irony is not lost. It's going to be really difficult to charge all those EV's without having the electric infrastructure to handle the load. Good luck Californians.

Extreme heat forecasted for California. Will be blackouts. So degrees over 100 and no air conditioning. No escape because your electric car can not get a charge. What to do? Just a hint of times to come

Now you're stuck in your house. You've almost used up your electricity allotment. Your car sits idly in the carport, on the verge of being dead. Now imagine an earthquake, or an emergency-- an accident, a baby ready to emerge into the world early (one of the few to survive the womb in California), or a volcano, or heart attack or appendicitis, or a family member is in such predicaments. How about wildfires? we know how often citizens have to jump in their vehicles on a moment's notice to escape the flames. Other than large-scale natural disaster, personal crises of all kinds are all the time. Any "governing authority" forcing the populace into these perilous conditions is derelict in his or her duties to protect and provide for safety. Will the Californians continue to lie down and allow themselves to be run over and crushed.

So, let’s see: CA says it will soon forbid the sale of gas powered cars so that people will buy EVs. Then when some people buy EVs, CA tells them they can’t use them because they have to stop charging them. There are times in this country when I feel I am losing my mind as I try to reconcile what Democrats are doing to this country and their words about how they’re trying to help.

Clinton posed on the red carpet for the premiere of director Noah Baumbach’s forthcoming Netflix film, “White Noise.” She ditched her usual pantsuit look and instead donned a baby blue kaftan and shiny flats for the evening.

As part of their response to the Supreme Court’s (SCOTUS) ruling in NYSRPA v. Bruen, New York Democrats secured legislation making Times Square a gun-free zone, even barring concealed carry permit holders from carrying for self-defense. On June 23 Breitbart News reported SCOTUS’s Bruen ruling, which struck down New York’s proper cause requirement for concealed carry. New York Gov. Kathy Hochul (D) and the state’s Democrat-run legislature responded by enacting numerous new gun controls, including a list of “sensitive” areas where the carrying of guns would be prohibited.

President Biden has formally announced plans to give civilian federal employees a pay raise next year, an election-year promise bound to please government workers struggling with high inflation like the rest of the voters. In a letter to congressional leadership, Mr. Biden said civilian federal employees will see an average 4.6% boost in pay beginning Jan. 1, consistent with his 2023 budget proposal in the spring. The raise includes an across-the-board 4.1% increase and locality pay that will increase by an average of 0.5%. Mr. Biden cited a growing pay gap between federal civilian and private sector employees that have led to recruitment and retention challenges

Pelosi made the comments during an Aug. 26 Roundtable on Women’s Reproductive Health at the University of California, San Francisco. (snip) Pelosi has referred to herself as a “devout Catholic” despite the conflict between her stance on abortion and the Roman Catholic Church’s teaching on the issue. The church teaches that abortion is a “moral evil” and “gravely wrong” because “human life begins at conception,” according to the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops.

A Nobel Prize-winning German developmental biologist called the transgender movement’s claims “unscientific” and “nonsense,” and their plans to let teenagers determine their own gender “madness.” In an interview published last week by the German feminist magazine EMMA, Dr. Christiane Nüsslein-Volhard cited hard scientific facts to counter the trendy notion that there are multiple genders. “All mammals have two sexes, and man is a mammal,” she explained. “There’s the one sex that produces the eggs, has two X chromosomes. That’s called female. And there’s the other one that makes the sperm, has an X and a Y chromosome. That’s called male.”

Despite the leftist mainstream media’s best efforts to portray Joe Biden as a rejuvenated president ready to lead his party to midterm glories, the aged and increasingly befogged Biden keeps sidetracking the fake news narrative with his own words and misdeeds. “An alleged diary from Ashley Biden exposed Joe Biden as a creep who took naked showers with his daughter at an inappropriate age.” Joe Biden should not be talking to children. He shouldn’t be talking to or about teenagers, either. Quite frankly, he oughtn’t address or talk about anyone under the age of 21 for the remainder of his presidency.
