Congress should investigate fully the January 6 riot at the Capitol—and similar recent riots at iconic federal sites. But unfortunately, it never will. Why not? The current committee is not bipartisan. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., forbade Republican nominees traditionally selected by the House minority leader to serve on the committee. No speaker had ever before rejected the minority party’s nominees to a select House committee. Pelosi’s own cynical criteria for Republican participation was twofold: Any willing minority Republican members had to have voted to impeach former President Donald Trump while having no realistic chance of being reelected in 2022. The Iowa Supreme Court on Friday cleared the way for lawmakers to severely limit or even ban abortion in the state, reversing a decision by the court just four years ago that guaranteed the right to the procedure under the Iowa Constitution. The court, now composed almost entirely of Republican appointees, concluded that a less conservative court wrongly decided that abortion is among the fundamental privacy rights guaranteed by the Iowa Constitution and federal law. Friday's ruling comes amid expectations that the Supreme Court will overturn the landmark Roe v. Wade decision that legalized abortion nationwide. Then Iowa lawmakers could ban abortion in the state without completing the lengthy process

U.S. regulators on Friday authorized the first COVID-19 shots for infants and preschoolers, paving the way for vaccinations to begin next week. The Food and Drug Administration's action follows its advisory panel's unanimous recommendation for the shots from Moderna and Pfizer. That means U.S. kids under 5—roughly 18 million youngsters—are eligible for the shots, about 1 1/2 years after the vaccines first became available in the U.S. for adults, who have been hit the hardest during the pandemic.(Snip)At a Senate hearing Thursday, Walensky said her staff was working over the Juneteenth federal holiday weekend "because we understand the urgency of this for American parents."

MIAMI -- Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis ripped into President Joe Biden Thursday morning during a South Florida stop when asked about inflation and high gas prices. "So, the question is about gas prices and inflation, you know what I could do, if you could give me a time machine to go back to January 2021, we would just do the opposite of what Biden has done, and we'd be in a better spot," said DeSantis. "Now. I mean, I really think it's, he's got a lot of chutzpah to attack energy producers, when he campaigned saying he was going to shut down energy production in the United States."

New York City Mayor Eric Adams defended Thursday sending drag queens to public schools and libraries, saying that inviting flamboyant female impersonators to read to young children promotes “a love of diversity.” The mayor’s statement came a few days after the New York Post reported that the city had paid $207,000 to Drag Story Hour NYC to read books to students at dozens of elementary schools, middle schools and high schools since 2018. “At a time when our LGBTQ+ communities are under increased attack across this country, we must use our education system to educate,” Mr. Adams said. “The goal is not only for our children to be academically smart,

Once again, progressive Democrats have lured weak-kneed Senate Republicans – apparently eager for ‘approval’ from people and organizations who will, in truth, never give it to them – to cross over to the dark side in a gun control bill. These ten sell-outs – nearly half of whom having already announced they’re not running for re-election in 2022 – have signed on with Senate Democrats, to pull together what the Democrats love to misleadingly label as “commonsense gun laws,” as reported in the Washington Post. These senators have been urged on by New York senator and Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, and

If the mainstream media is indeed merely a pseudo communications department of the Democratic Party – which it is – then CNN is the co-chair of that department, with MSNBC as the other. There is no outlet in America’s corrupt collection of leftwing media that better serves as a Democrat cheerleader than CNN, though MSNBC occasionally gives them a run for their money. Therefore, a question: How bad must the situation be in order for CNN to not only report on bad news for President Joe Biden and his party – which is itself highly unusual – but to also accurately interpret that news and offer a reasonable opinion?

For example, we reported that Biden’s Health and Human Services department provided $30 million in funding to dole out crack pipes to drug addicts as part of its ‘Harm Reduction Plan.’
