Six former Philadelphia Phillies players have died of brain cancer, and a doctor has said a potential link should be investigated.
Former Phillies pitcher David West died of brain cancer this past week at the age of 57, renewing the question of whether the phenomenon of several former players who played for the team at Veterans Stadium dying of brain cancer was coincidental.
West’s death from the disease followed catcher Darren Daulton’s in 2017, infielder John Vukovich’s passing in 2007, catcher Johnny Oates’ 2004 death and those of pitcher Tug McGraw in 2004 and pitcher Ken Brett in 2003.

They all got vaccinated and the vax lowers immunity to cancer. So guess what happens.

#1 - The prior deaths occurred in 2017, 2007, 2004 and 2003. All before the Clot Shot and information provided in the first paragraph posted. Although, I must admit that was my first interpretation after only reading the headline. The doctor is really questioning the use of the radar gun in combination with Astro Turf, however those conditions are in other stadiums. Also with the range in dates I think its a stretch to call it a "cluster". More fear porn?

Five of six died 2017 or earlier. No Covid vax involvement.

My first thought was of Lyle Alzado, who died from brain cancer.
From Wiki article on Lyle: "Alzado was one of the first major US sports figures to admit to using anabolic steroids. In the last year of his life, as he battled against the brain tumor that eventually caused his death, Alzado asserted that his steroid abuse directly led to his fatal illness.[16] Alzado recounted his steroid abuse in an article in Sports Illustrated,
I started taking anabolic steroids in 1969 and never stopped. It was addicting, mentally addicting. Now I'm sick, and I'm scared. Ninety percent of the athletes I know are on the stuff. We're not born to be 300 lb (140 kg) or jump 30 ft (9.1 m). But all the time I was taking steroids, I knew they were making me play better. I became very violent on the field and off it. I did things only crazy people do. Once a guy sideswiped my car and I beat the hell out of him. Now look at me. My hair's gone, I wobble when I walk and have to hold on to someone for support, and I have trouble remembering things. My last wish? That no one else ever dies this way.[17]
The role that anabolic steroids may have played in Alzado's death has been the subject of controversy. The lymphoma of the brain that took his life has not been associated clinically with steroid use. The claim was denounced as a myth in the pro-steroids 2008 documentary Bigger, Stronger, Faster.[citation needed]
Lyle Alzado died on May 14, 1992, at age 43 after a battle with brain cancer. He was buried at River View Cemetery in Portland, Oregon."

I find it interesting that all of the deceased were either pitchers or catchers. What do they do differently? What is used for that hurting pitching arm? Catchers are always getting nailed, slid into, knocked over. Lots of minor or major wounds. Something used for quick healing?

If it's not what #4 said, it's the chaw. It's like stuffing a bird with a toxic potpourri of chemicals and carcinogens and letting it stew all day, every day from the time you're the high school hot shot with his eye on the big leagues until the day your jaw gets amputated and/or you die.

Doctor suggesting an investigation must have only gotten half of the story. This is not a cancer cluster where a bunch of co-workers all developed cancer. These are players that played for that team at different times over a period that spanned almost 50 years. It is a sad coincidence but there is nothing to suggest it is anything but a coincidence. Brett was with the Phillies for just part of one season (1973), Johnny Oates was there two years (1974 and 75). Both developed their fatal cancer long after their brief stint in Philadelphia.

#4 has the more likely explanation.

odd that no football players similarly affected - they dont play a many games in the stadium but likely spend
as much time there for daily practice
